Telco Systems Releases EdgeGenie Orchestrator? and Two New Virtualized TelcoApps

Latest products accelerate Telco Systems? drive toward a complete SDN & NFV portfolio for service providers

MANSFIELD, MA, December 3, 2014Telco Systems, the leading provider of innovative SDN & NFV and multi-service Carrier Ethernet 2.0 and MPLS edge access solutions, today announced that it is once again extending its market leadership in intelligent networking with the launch of three new SDN/NFV products, EdgeGenie Orchestrator?, vSMU TelcoApp and vTunnel TelcoApp. The new products will help telecommunication service providers to transition smoothly to dynamic, optimized, and cost-effective IT-aware networks.

Delivering CE 2.0 services end to end with the required resiliency, QoS and monitoring, EdgeGenie SDN Orchestrator, enables service providers to future-proof their networks as they transition from CE 2.0 to SDN and Distributed NFV technologies. EdgeGenie Orchestrator is an orchestration module that manages Distributed NFV deployments including virtual machine initiation, configuration and maintenance, service attachment and chaining, and virtual network function resilience. It also provides an OpenFlow southbound interface as well as NETCONF and YANG support, enabling simple SDN implementation and integration with other network devices.

A new entry in the growing TelcoApp cache of virtual applications, the virtualized Service Measurement Utility (vSMU), constitutes a fresh, virtualized approach to service-level assurance with accurate prediction of end-user experience at for the Ethernet/IP/TCP/UDP layers. vSMU enables rapid virtualization of software agents on edge devices without the need to deploy hardware. It provides accurate service-level measurements and accurate reports of TCP throughput as experienced by service providers? business customers. EdgeGenie Orchestrator enables quick deployment of vSMU on Telco Systems? CloudMetro devices and rapid execution of tests, allowing service providers to certify and guarantee end-customer Ethernet service level upon handover.

The third product, another new TelcoApp, virtual Tunnel (vTunnel) provides encryption for service providers? business customers for their inter-office, office-to-cloud and hybrid-cloud connections.
