Telecom Argentina taps Grey Juice Lab for multiscreen and on demand content
Exclusive deal sees Grey Juice Lab bring premium content catalogue to Telecom Argentina’s Arnet Play
London, 15 December 2011 – Grey Juice Lab, the expert in content for multiscreen TV and on demand streaming solutions, has today announced an exclusive deal with Telecom Argentina to provide a full range of content services for Arnet Play, its newly launched premium video streaming service on set-top-boxes and PC devices.
Arnet Play, which launched in Argentina in October, will initially roll out with 1,300 video titles supplied by Grey Juice Lab. This will allow Argentina’s major telecom operator to offer premium entertainment video content on demand to its more than 1.5 million broadband subscribers via web browsers and set-top boxes, with access to other devices.
Grey Juice Lab will provide Telecom Argentina with a complete catalogue of Hollywood studios, independent, international and locally-produced premium content. All genres are covered from library gems, TV series, children, documentaries, music, education and entertainment to new release blockbusters including the latest installment of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
In addition, it has worked extensively with Telecom Argentina to provide a whole range of content services. As well as content processing, preparation and service management Grey Juice Lab is providing marketing, editorial and front-end management to support Telecom Argentina’s in house operations.
Grey Juice Lab will enable clients to access Arnet Play’s extensive portfolio of content via a variety of video content business models. A Subscription Streaming “all-you-can-eat” package will give subscribers access to thousands of premium titles and blockbusters at any given time for an affordable fixed monthly fee, and the Transactional Streaming will allow access to new releases and blockbusters on a pay-per-view, 48 hours basis.
Stefano Core, Managing Director of Telecom Argentina said, “Grey Juice Lab has been an integral part of the development and delivery of Arnet Play. This is a milestone in Telecom Argentina’s business and one that has been made possible by Grey Juice Lab’s extensive content catalogue and expertise in the industry. Content is a real differentiator in the video streaming market and our new offering will give us a competitive advantage, with a portfolio of content that is both attractive and current.”
The entertainment landscape has changed significantly over recent years. With high-speed broadband continuing to gain adoption across Argentina and much of Latin America as a whole, online video consumption has become nearly synonymous with web usage and consumers are enjoying more interactive viewing experiences.
“As new trends in video consumption evolve, consumers are demanding higher quality content on multiple devices. Operators are now facing the challenge of adapting business models to these new usage patterns because if they don’t give their viewers the multiscreen experiences they want with a very high quality content that they expect, they will go elsewhere,” said Grey Juice Lab CEO, Mihai Crasneanu. “Telecom Argentina has recognized that multiscreen video delivery is the ideal opportunity to offer its subscribers an extended range of revenue-generating services and maximise its return on investment. I am delighted that Grey Juice Lab has been chosen to provide the content that will fuel this new and innovative service.”
