5-Year Base Award Contract Enables Department of Homeland Security to Purchase TCS Technology and Services

ANNAPOLIS, Md., May 22, 2014 – TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced it has been selected as an awardee under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge II (EAGLE II) contract in Functional Category 1, Service Delivery, on the Unrestricted Track. This Indefinite Delivery – Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) five-year vehicle has an additional two-year option period and an estimated seven-year overall program contract ceiling of $22 billion.

News Facts:

  • This contract enables the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to purchase TCS’ full range of IT services, technical and management expertise, and solutions-oriented products, including system design, development, implementation and integration; software design and development; and operations and maintenance.
  • EAGLE II supports the DHS goal of a functionally-integrated department, which includes methods of operation among and between the various IT support system components for enhanced mission effectiveness and economies of scale through consolidation.
