Company Achieves Ranking in Global Top Twenty, Fast Twenty, and Independent Top Twenty Lists

ANNAPOLIS, MD, Nov 29, 2010 — TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that the World Teleport Association (WTA), a leading organization that focuses on the business of satellite communications from the ground up, has named TCS to all three of its prestigious lists for the third consecutive year. Rankings are reported in three categories: the Independent Top Twenty, the Global Top Twenty, and the Fast Twenty. These rankings offer a unique look into the diverse teleport sector of the global communications industry and are the only independently compiled rankings of teleport operating companies. Complete rankings can be found at: www.worldteleport.org

For the third consecutive year, TCS achieved the “Global Top Twenty,” ranking eighteenth on this prestigious list of companies based on revenues from all customized communications sources and includes operators of teleports, satellite fleets, and fiber networks. The company made the “Fast Twenty” list for the fifth consecutive year, ranking tenth this year. This list ranks all teleport-operating companies based on year-over-year revenue growth in their most recent fiscal years. In addition, TCS maintained its position of seventh on the “Independent Top Twenty” which ranks companies based on total revenue from all sources, but excludes companies whose core business is ownership and operation of a satellite fleet or terrestrial network.

“TCS’ prominent ranking on all three WTA lists independently validates our progress as a leading value-added systems integrator providing total communication solutions globally,” said Michael Bristol, general manager and senior vice president of the Government Solutions Group for TCS. “We have a proven track record of success delivering end-to-end, secure satellite communications and services to government and commercial organizations, and we anticipate that 2011 will be yet another strong growth year.”

The TCS owned and operated teleport is located in Manassas, Virginia, with partnerships in Koln and Fuchstadt, Germany; and London, England. Operating in Ku and C-Band, TCS facilities are equipped to handle a variety of communication needs. TCS is the reliable choice for high capacity voice, video, and data communication over IP-based networks required for Voice over IP (VoIP), multimedia, Internet, and messaging data.
