Excalibur Spearheads Local Government and Professional Services Growth with Bridge Solutions Acquisition

18 January, 2012 – Managed services provider, Excalibur, today announced that it has acquired IT services provider Bridge Solutions and all outstanding share capital. The move follows an agreement to purchase Emnico Enterprises Ltd in November 2011 and will further enhance Excalibur’s technology, support and services portfolio.

A Microsoft Gold and Intel Premier Channel Partner, Bridge Solutions is expected to generate approximately £350,000 additional revenue. The agreement will also complement Excalibur’s skill set and better equip it to address the need for IT services amongst government and professional services companies.

The deal is part of a series of strategic acquisitions aimed at accumulating skills and reinforcing Excalibur’s position as the leader in SME managed services. Staff numbers have increased by 25 per cent in just four months and to support continued expansion, Excalibur has obtained the leasehold to an additional 3,500 sq ft of head office space. Excalibur has undergone a complete rebrand to reflect the company’s new strategy and direction.

James Phipps, CEO, Excalibur, said: “This latest acquisition is testament to our commitment to turning Excalibur into a complete unified communications and IT solutions provider. Bridge Solutions’ reputation as a best-in-class IT services provider, coupled with its talented team, will allow us to tackle new market expansion and significantly broaden our customer base.”

Excalibur, a Microsoft Gold, Vodafone Platinum and Cisco partner and Blackberry Alliance Associate Member currently helps over 5,000 UK SMEs to address needs relating to voice and data, business continuity, connectivity, cloud computing and IT outsourcing. Excalibur also manages over 30,000 mobile phone users.

Acquisition Expected to Contribute to Revenue and Profit

Excalibur has doubled revenue over the past three years and expects to contribute to fiscal 2012 growth by broadening its IT services and support portfolio and ultimately increase its EBITDA to £2 million.
