Telefónica Germany Selects Mi-Pay To Deliver Direct Multi-Channel Prepaid Top-up Services

Telefónica Germany has chosen leading edge payments service provider, Mi-Pay, to provide a range of online top-up services including ad hoc and recurring top-ups as well as IVR and SMS initiated top-ups to its customers. The service is integrated into O2’s on-line portal and is already available for customers to use.

O2 customers will be able to top up their prepaid account on a 24/7 basis using various channels (IVR, Web, Call Centre, SMS), and choosing various methods of payments (Direct Debit “Lastschrift ELV” and credit/debit card).

Peter Rampling, Managing Director Marketing at Telefónica Germany comments, “We always aim to offer the best quality services to our customers and we are constantly looking at ways of improving our customers experience. Mi-Pay’s direct top-up solution will enable us to offer more top-up channels for those O2 customers who want to ensure that their prepaid phones are always in airtime credit.”

Allan Jakobsen, CEO of Mi-Pay adds, “Our selection by Telefónica Germany, reflects once again our position as a prime partner for mobile topup services.  Many of our existing operator clients have realised significant revenue benefits and enhanced customer satisfaction by increasingly using the online channels over the physical ones. We look forward to helping Telefónica Germany evolve its prepaid service portfolio to deliver new levels of convenience for its customers.”

The new O2 topup services will run on Mi-Pay’s fully hosted PCI DSS certified platform which ensures the safe handling and processing of consumers’ financial and card data, minimising the likelihood of fraud and helping to safeguard the operator’s brand reputation.
