Madrid, July,22 July 2014During the Football World Cup held in Brazil, between 12 June and 13 July, Telefonica´s international network, operated by Telefonica Global Solutions recorded an increase in IPX traffic of 63% in Brazil when compared to the previous period, peaking at 88 per cent during the first stage (Groups Phase) of the championship.

Followingour successful multi-operatorLTE Roaming demonstration at the 2014 Mobile World Congress,we haveactively played a leading role in the mobile customer experience of individuals attending the World Cup in Brazil.Our LTE Roaming service delivers the largest network of (Diameter) signaling routes, enabling mobile subscribers to seamlessly access their 4Gapplications over a fast and secure LTE network while they travel to international locations around the globe.Mobile subscriberstravelling to the World Cup were able to enjoy the high-speed LTE data services as if on their home national network.

We continued to closely monitor the roaming experience of travelling customers from all subsidiaries worldwide using a variety of specialized first level tools, complemented by ourglobal service and operation management centre. Additionally to LTE supervision, a whole program was implemented to assure service levels related to IP and Capacity services.

During theWorld Cup the company has reinforced the communication resources and tools that facilitate a better roaming customer experience, in coordination with other companies of the Telefonica Group. One million foreign tourists visited the country during the event, according to Brazil´s Federal Government. Using robots deployed in all venues and handset-based technologies, the solution has produced a complete set of 3G and LTE measurements at key locations including stadiums, press centres, hotels, embassies and airports etc. As a result, international customers who travelled to Brazil have benefited from a high quality service from our leading Telefonica Vivo’s network during the event.
