Telefónica selects Genaker to launch its Cloud Service “Pulsa-y-Habla”
Genaker will provide more information about the “Pulsa-y-Habla” service and its latest developments at the Mobile World Congress, at its booth in the Catalan Pavilion (CY03) located in the Courtyard.
Barcelona, February 27th. 2012. Telefónica has reached an agreement with Genaker, a developer of MobileServices and Solutions, for the launch of its new service “Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS in Spain. After more than seven years of collaboration in the development of Push-To-Talk services, Telefónica has selected Genaker for the upcoming launch of the service “Pulsa-y-Habla”, a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution based on “Cloud PTT” technology from Genaker.
The new “Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS will enable users to talk to each other using their mobile handsets as “walkie-talkies”over the mobile network, allowing quick and easy communication between groups of professional users. With“Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS end users will enjoy the most advanced services available today with Smartphone devices,without the need to use other specific devices for corporate radio communications. “Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS facilitates the convergence of multiple services supplied by Telefónica in a single handset, simplifying operations and reducing costs for companies and public administrations.
The service will be launched through Aplicateca, the Movistar Cloud Computing shop for enterprise usershttp://www.aplicateca.es. Telefónica is currently running several pilots in different business segments such as Local Government, Logistics, Cleaning and Health.
“Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS supports a wide range of Nokia handsets and industrial robust handsets. Android version is expected to be available during the first half of 2012. The service also includes professional accessories that will enable continued growth in the use of the service in outdoor and high demanding environments, as well asintegration into police vehicles, ambulances, buses or trucks.
Once launched, Telefónica and Genaker will work together in the constant evolution and enrichment of the service, with new features like geo-location, task management or messaging. Furthermore, “Pulsa-y-Habla” SaaS will become the strategic technology platform to which Telefónica plans to converge other “radio” communication services nearing the end of its life.
