Thailand’s AIS achieves large scale commercial use of subscriber data management with ZTE’s Universal Subscriber Profile Platform

ZTE and AIS launch USPP for AIS’ 38 million subscribers with zero customer complaints

11 January 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet is pleased to announce that it has achieved the successful commercial deployment of its Universal Subscriber Profile Platform (USPP) with AIS, Thailand’s largest mobile operator. AIS’ 38 million subscribers were swapped from existing home location registers (HLRs) to ZTE’s USPP solution. Implementation and subscriber migration has been executed smoothly; presently the system has provided reliable services to customers.

ZTE’s USPP was fully vetted in a series of strict proof-of-concept tests conducted by AIS and ZTE before the solution was launched commercially. This included testing of overload protection capabilities with up to 9 times normal traffic, simulating a 30 percent packet loss in IP network transmission, repeated plugging, unplugging and switching of single board computers and hard disks, and other extreme environmental tests and verifications. ZTE’s USPP simultaneously supports subscribers of global system for mobile communications (GSM) /universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) / Long-Term evolution (LTE) networks, and smoothly achieves voice-over LTE (VoLTE) and voice-over WIFI (VoWiFi) services. USPP, along with other ZTE solutions, have helped AIS succeed and thrive in the face of intense market completion in Thailand.

To date, ZTE’s USPP solution has been successfully deployed in 86 countries in partnership with 155 operators. Ultimately, ZTE aims to use its USPP solution to build a globally leading full convergence subscriber data management (SDM) solution.
