The Kenton Group Launches New Product Suite at Broadband MEA

Kenton turns not spots into hot spots for rural communities

Network access specialist The Kenton Group, will launch its new product suite, using repeater technologies to enable high speed broadband delivery for rural communities, at this year’s Broadband MEA (25 – 27 March 2012). Express, Sprint and Swift form Kenton’s new family of products and have all been specifically designed to support broadband in rural communities, turning ‘not spots’ into ‘hot spots’.

The Kenton Group, which is the official sponsor of the event’s Rural Broadband Summit, delivers network access, demarcation and connection products and solutions for carriers, operators, service providers, enterprise and government throughout the UK and EMEA.

Express broadband enabling technology is unique in that it stands alone from existing systems and offers the end user the ability to choose which ISP they wish. With the ability to deliver broadband services over lines up to 10km, this technology has been developed to provide broadband services to locations that, due to their distance from the exchange, currently have no connection or very limited speeds.

As an ADSL regenerator, Sprint increases the reach of DSL services (ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+) by more than 50 per cent, delivering high-speed broadband to both existing served communities and un-served communities. The Sprint technology doubles broadband rates on typical loops and triples the bandwidth on longer loops, allowing the cost-effective delivery of broadband to virtually every location in a carrier’s network.

Broadband amplifier, Swift operates seamlessly with each carrier’s DSLAM (Digital Subscriber line Access Multiplexer) and the subscriber’s CPE (Customer Premise Equipment), to provide higher bandwidth and longer reach than available with standard DSLAM equipment. Swift will auto-calibrate and provide optimal bandwidth and auto-correct for tip and ring roll making installation simple. Furthermore, it requires no active management and allows for easy troubleshooting.

“We look forward to sharing our new product suite and demonstrating its advanced capabilities at Broadband MEA,” says John Larkin, Managing Director of The Kenton Group.  “Our technologies ensure social inclusion for everyone in the MEA region, enabling people to work from home with full access to online services – with improved broadband services, our aim is to help improve the quality of services that are delivered to their citizens.”
