Thomson Video Networks Showcases Contribution, Cable TV, and OTT Delivery Solutions for World-Class Video Quality at ANGA COM 2014

At this year’s ANGA COM, Thomson Video Networks will demonstrate its latest innovations for enhancing the viewer experience while maximizing available bandwidth and video quality.

Innovative Fixed and Mobile Contribution Solutions
Thomson Video Networks’ ViBE™ CP6000 is a dedicated multi-format, high-performance platform for contribution of live video. With the product’s modular implementation of the optimal MPEG-4 contribution codecs, an unprecedented eight HD channels per 1RU chassis, and industry-leading compression performance, the ViBE CP6000 is a substantial advancement in contribution applications. At ANGA COM, Thomson Video Networks will feature a new DVB-S/S2/DSNG hot-swappable satellite modulator board for the ViBE CP6000 and the new half-rack CP6100 compact platform, perfectly designed for space-constrained applications. Also on display will be the RD6000 contribution receiver/decoder, a natural companion to the ViBE CP6000.

Premium Video Quality Compression and Ad Insertion Solutions for Cable TV
Thomson Video Networks will feature its versatile ViBE™ EM4000 multi-channel HD/SD encoder, the first premium encoder offering a density of eight HD MPEG-4 AVC channels in a 1-RU chassis. The ViBE EM4000 features new compression innovations for both MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC to provide even more bandwidth savings and video quality improvement for Pay-TV operators.

Also on display is the Sapphire MPEG Stream Server, a unique channel-in-a-box solution providing all the functions needed to ingest, process, brand, and generate TV channels ready for air. Sapphire offers advanced capture, playout, and ad insertion capabilities, and frame-accurate operation with MPEG-2 and H.264 compressed content.

Increased Performance for Multi-Screen and OTT Delivery
The ViBE™ VS7000 video system combines Thomson Video Networks’ renowned compression technology for outstanding picture quality with live broadcast-quality encoding, innovative video preprocessing, and faster-than-real-time file transcoding. Thomson’s MediaFlex v3.0 video operating system provides a 40 percent increase in terms of channel density, allowing the ViBE VS7000 to process up to 448 SD channels or 80 HD channels on a single frame. Thomson Video Networks will also demonstrate both real-time and offline HEVC encoding on the ViBE VS7000 platform.
