Tier 1 Western European Telco Deploys BroadHop Quantum Network Suite

BroadHop’s Quantum Wins on Technology Superiority and Lowest Policy TCO

Denver, CO — May 17, 2011 BroadHop, Inc., the leader in next generation policy control platforms for telecom operators, today announced that its advanced, next generation policy management platform, Quantum Network Suite has been selected for deployment by a Tier 1 Western European service provider after completing a successful trial installation.  Quantum Network Suite was selected based on its ability to meet the operator’s sophisticated needs both technically and from a total cost of ownership (TCO) perspective.

In the fiercely competitive Western European marketplace, speed to market with new compelling services is critical to gaining operator market share, maintaining subscriber loyalty and monetization.  Service providers are turning to more advanced policy management solutions as strategic assets that provide significant advantages in flexibility and scalability over previous generation, legacy policy solutions.   Next generation policy platforms enable Top Tier service providers to deliver innovative new services quickly as well as drive down costs associated with the delivery of new, personalized services.

“This Tier 1 operator outgrew the capabilities of their original policy server and was looking for a policy platform that could scale to support a rapidly expanding customer base and drive the dynamic new personalized services that their customers demand,” said Bill Diotte, President and CEO of BroadHop, Inc.  “They selected Quantum because of its industry-leading scalability and flexibility in enabling innovative, Policy 2.0 services and applications.  They consider the Quantum Network Suite to be unique in its ability to meet today’s requirements, as well as grow to deliver new capabilities that they will require far into the future.  In addition, this service provider recognized that Quantum’s distributed, virtualized architecture also delivers the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership.”

A key criteria of the Tier 1 operator was that the new policy management solution enable them to bring fresh opportunities to market in a radically faster, more cost efficient manner.  Until now, the development of new services has typically taken months and involved significant coding and costly development hours.  With Quantum Network Suite, the operator will now be able to create compelling new services within days using BroadHop’s unique Policy Builder feature creation capability that eliminates the custom development required for new services with existing legacy policy servers.   The service provider also needed a solution that would scale up from small to large service deployment and provide cost assurance for new services as they bring innovative uses cases to market for a solid business return.  With Quantum Network Suite, the operator will now have more service development and build out predictability as they capitalize on policy driven service creation and leverage the solution’s ability to support massive scalability.
