Toshiba Expands CMOS Image Sensor Offering with Low-Power, High-Performance Devices Driving Advanced Camera Features in Phones, Tablets and Notebooks

720p and 1080p HD format FSI image sensors round out Toshiba’s industry-leading product portfolio

Düsseldorf, Germany, 29th August 2012 – Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced the addition of two new devices to its industry-leading complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) image sensor product offering.

The T4K08 is a new native HD format sensor (720p) combining 1.75μm front side illumination (FSI) pixel technology and System on Chip (SoC) Image Signal Processing (ISP) and the T4K24 is a new FSI image sensor also leveraging 1.75μm FSI pixel technology and providing a resolution of 1080p. These devices deliver low power and high performance in a small form-factor solution for camera systems being deployed in today’s phones, tablet and notebook computers.

The T4K08 is a 720p format sensor supporting HD video at 30 frames per second (fps) and an optical format of 1/7-inch. The T4K08 provides excellent colour reproduction through its compact primary colour filter. Toshiba’s T4K24 is a 1080p format sensor supporting FHD and HD video at 30 fps and an optical format of 1/4.4. The T4K24 also provides rich colour reproduction through its primary colour filter.
