Trade Wings Names Former Alcatel-Lucent Executive as Vice President of Enterprise Sales and Business Development, EMEA and Asia-Pacific

Frank Zehnder Joins Management Team of Global Firm Leading the Shift Toward Profitable and Sustainable Network Infrastructure Reuse Practices

PORTSMOUTH, NH – June 15, 2011 – Trade Wings, a leading provider of software-enabled services for the creation of profitable Reuse Markets in global telecommunications, today announced the appointment of Frank Zehnder as vice president of enterprise sales and business development for EMEA and Asia-Pacific.  Responsible for establishing and managing strategic carrier and OEM relationships in these regions, Mr. Zehnder adds 30 years of international business experience to Trade Wings’ executive management team, including senior management positions with Alcatel-Lucent.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Zehnder was the founder and managing director of Kalatec GmbH, a telecom consulting firm.  Kalatec became a strategic partner to Trade Wings in 2009, and was responsible for establishing relationships with network operators such as Telenor Group in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Prior to Kalatec, Mr. Zehnder served as co-founder and managing director of Bellatrix Consulting GmbH, and held several strategic sales and technical management positions during a successful, 20-year career with Alcatel-Lucent.

“Frank’s breadth of experience and deep understanding of telecom infrastructures enhances our ability to extend reuse solutions to carriers and OEMs in several major markets,” said Mark Portu, President and COO of Trade Wings.  “As a partner to Trade Wings for some years, Frank has played an integral role in securing several strategic partnerships for us, including Telenor and others. We are delighted to welcome him to our management team in this newly established role.”

Through secure software services that effectively aggregate and “socialize” data on excess and after-service inventories available for reuse within an organization, Trade Wings Re:® transforms telecom profit models by delivering a 2-3X return over traditional provisioning and disposal processes.  Unlike ERP systems, Trade Wings’ Reuse Cloud® lets users quickly assess whether operating network assets, such as those decommissioned during upgrades and acquisitions, can be optimally reused in existing networks to reduce mounting equipment and repair costs, resold to generate revenue, or recycled locally to recoup precious metal value and limit transportation and warehousing-related emissions.

“I am excited to lead Trade Wings forward in regions of the world where the velocity of network technology turnover is matched only by the immense competitive and regulatory pressure that telecom providers now face,” said Mr. Zehnder.  “It is an honor to become part of the team that is transforming today’s telecom supply chain operations with innovative software solutions that can address such commanding business concerns in a single, rapidly deployed solution.”
