Trusted Logic Collaborates with Intertrust on Secure Marlin solutions to distribute premium content

Paris – February 21, 2011 — Trusted Logic today announced a partnership with Intertrust to secure premium content delivery – such as video-on-demand or e-books – on any mobile platform. This higher security is expected to significantly enhance and boost the distribution of new and rich content offerings on mobile devices.

Through this partnership, the two companies provide hardware-protected Marlin digital rights management (DRM) solutions using TrustedShow™, Trusted Logic’s solution for enabling multiple-DRM schemes on smart phones, tablets, and any other mobile device. This delivers the security required by content owners to any platform, including open operating systems.

TrustedShow – Marlin version can benefit from Trusted Foundations* to bring optimal security at minimal time-to-market by leveraging the hardware security features available on most application processors, including ARM TrustZone®. It makes the system more secure by isolating the client’s sensitive code and data from the main open OS of various smartphone handsets.

“The combination of Intertrust’s Marlin-based solutions and TrustedShow enables service providers and device manufacturers to integrate Marlin DRM solutions effortlessly,” said Olivier Leger, Vice President and General Manager of Trusted Logic’s Professional and Consumer Devices Business Unit. “The enhanced security is especially appealing to content providers and copyright holders who constantly seek higher levels of protection over software-only DRM solutions.”

“The Trusted Logic-Intertrust alliance will give device makers a broad set of application processors to choose from when selecting a hardware-protected Marlin solution”, said Gilles Boccon-Gibod, Intertrust’s Senior Vice President, Technology and Chief Architect. “With a secure environment that can be ported on any processor, Trusted Logic is an excellent partner to provide this technology.” Trusted Foundations™ is the leading Trusted Execution Environment. It is developed and distributed by Trusted Logic.
