UK consumer electronics leader Binatone sets sights on international markets
New appointment of MD of EMEA/ROW supports Binatone’s strategy to dominate international markets through affordable, quality consumer electronics offering
London – 20 July 2011 – Binatone, one of the world’s leading consumer electronics companies, today announced the promotion of Luke Ireland to the role of managing director for EMEA/Rest of World, as the company renews its focus on taking its innovative and affordable product offering to new markets. Previously managing director – Europe, Ireland will now also be responsible for launching Binatone into new markets.
In the last twelve months Binatone has been riding high on the crest of innovative and hugely popular technology releases and world-firsts, including the first-ever and phenomenally successful Android-powered home phone, the iHomePhone, and the first tablet under £100 to hit the European market – the HomeSurf.
As the company continues to foster growth within the consumer electronics market and aims to place innovative new technology into the hands of all consumers, Ireland will be overseeing the brand’s development in Asia-Pacific, South America, Australasia, Middle East and Africa. The company aims to take advantage of its global knowledge and relationships to expand into new countries; especially emerging markets where Binatone’s ability to deliver good quality at affordable prices will surely be enthusiastically received.
Ireland joined Binatone in 2010, bringing a wealth of experience in business development and market expansion within the technology and telecoms market. Prior to joining Binatone, Ireland was the director of group operations / managing director for northern Europe at the branded division of OSM Group, Swedish manufacturer of mobile and computer accessories. Previous roles also include commercial director at Rock Group PLC and director at IT provider Centerprise International.
