Using millimeter wave FWA tech to fill in a “broadband gap” in Utah

Reliable connectivity in the United States

by Administrator

According to Utah Broadband, the most impressive achieve- ment is the fact that they are able to provide a fiber-like inter- net service at Gigabit upload and download speeds to a com- munity for a fraction of the cost of trenching fiber. For instance, wireline providers have offered to bring connectiv- ity to this area for an “upfront” cost of approximately US$250,000. Utah Broadband, with the help of their vendor partners, was able to bring fiber-like internet to this neigh- borhood for roughly 10% of that cost and no upfront “down payment” was needed from the community.
