Viewbiquity CEO Tom Shafron to Speak at DevCon5 Conference

Session Showcases Viewbiquity Development Tools and Best Practices for Creating Innovative M2M Solutions

Deerfield Beach, Florida, April 18, 2012— Viewbiquity, a leading provider of open-source cloud-based Machine- to-Machine (M2M) platforms, today announced that Tom Shafron, the company’s managing partner and chief executive officer, will speak at the DevCon5: HTML5 Developer’s and Designer’s Conference, scheduled for April 25 and 26 at the Network Meeting Center in Santa Clara, CA. Mr. Shafron will present “Building APIs for HTML5,” on Wednesday, April 25 at 4:30 p.m.

In his presentation, Mr. Shafron will discuss best-practices and lessons learned from the creation and launch of the Viewbiquity Cloud Interface (VCI) machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity platform.  Recognizing that the final 10 percent of the design process is usually the least exciting and the toughest, Mr. Shafron will draw from his own experiences as a successful developer and entrepreneur to provide attendees with concepts and tools to help them navigate the finals stages of developing a successful product.

“The Viewbiquity platform provides an ecosystem that innovative developers can use to create M2M applications that fill a myriad of business needs,” notes Shafron. “Facilitating the development of ground-breaking solutions across a broad spectrum of industries and businesses, VCI provides developers with a complete set of tools including code libraries, data objects and flexible APIs. With these powerful tools at their disposal, developers can concentrate more resources on the differentiating features of their applications and less on foundational functions.”

VCI is a cloud-based, open-source M2M platform that delivers a highly-flexible environment for integrating core business processes, such as energy management, environment controls, voice and data communications, facilities management, point-of-sale, and other types of sensor device monitoring. VCI provides a fault-tolerant and highly reliable platform for users, yet through JavaScript APIs, enables simple creation and customization of operational profiles and applications.

“We are excited that Tom is returning to share his knowledge and experience as a successful developer of some highly innovative platforms and solutions,” said Carl Ford, partner and community developer for Crossfire Media, and conference chair. “HTML5 may ultimately be the great connector for all devices and APIs to work in harmony, so I appreciate Tom’s insight into the market. His ‘in-the-trenches’ experience and the connection that he makes with audience members every time he speaks, combine to create what should be an excellent session that puts practical ideas and tools in the heads and hands of the attendees.”
