GTS expands the services it provides to the Czech National Bank

Prague, March 30, 2012 – GTS Central Europe (GTS), a leading infrastructure-based provider of integrated telecommunications solutions, expanded the services it provides to the Czech National Bank (CNB) with its GTS Virtual Hosting (IaaS), a part of the cloud environment of the operator. The virtualization solution offers flexibility, high availability of the service, guaranteed security and the cutting edge technical facilities of the provider. The Czech National Bank is the central bank of the Czech Republic and the supervisory organ of the financial market.

“We have cooperated with GTS a good while now and the services they provide us meet our requirements. Virtualization brings technological independence to the operation of our selected applications, particularly of our web site,” said Vladimír Mojžíšek, Information Section Director of the Czech National Bank.

“GTS is very proud that it is able to participate in the modernization of the IT section of key institutions such as the Czech National Bank. We believe that their employees are conscientious about the quality of their work and about the security of the information that flows through the bank. They therefore sought a system that would share their values and help them create a more modern work environment,” said Petr Možíš, Sales Director, GTS Czech.

GTS launched Virtual Hosting platform last summer. It represents a radical change of how the purchase and utilization of computing and storage resources are done. The new approach allows corporate clients to flexibly select, allocate and transfer their server and storage resources just when and where they are needed. At the same time customers can benefit from reduction of capital investment, shorter deployment time and more predictable total cost of ownership for such solutions. The service is based on the Infrastructure as a Service model (IaaS) and is available to customers throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Recently GTS completed its cloud product portfolio with the release of two new products – GTS Data Storage and GTS Backup.
