Welcome to a Virtualised World of Work: NextiraOne Germany at Cebit 2012

NextiraOne demonstrates comprehensive solutions from the workstation of the future to the Data Centre

Teltow, 28 February, 2012 – The most modern workstations with every possible means of collaboration with colleagues, customers and business partners: at Cebit 2012 (March 6-10) NextiraOne, Europe’s leading expert in communications services, will demonstrate how organisations can make their communications fit for the growing demands they face.

“Global markets, social networking and mobile working environments are both a challenge and an opportunity,” commented Bernd Ruppert, CEO of NextiraOne Deutschland. “Simplified, uniform communications and virtualised workstations make a significant contribution to the ongoing competitiveness and growth potential of businesses.”

Unified Communications and Desktop Virtualisation

As a vendor-independent communications specialist, NextiraOne has three different workplace scenarios in terms of collaboration, based on solutions from Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco and Microsoft. By working together with the world leaders in communications technologies and applications, NextiraOne is able to ensure that organisations with a Unified Communications solution can achieve the maximum benefit from their infrastructure. “Our expertise through countless projects from consultancy to implementation to operations helps businesses to gain benefits,” stresses Holger Imbery, Solution Line Manager Unified Communications at NextiraOne Germany. He added that customised solutions for individual customers are becoming increasingly important.

NextiraOne’s demonstrations at Cebit of various workplace scenarios illustrate the enormous potential offered by using Unified Communications in combination with desktop virtualisation. It set the scene for full independence of communications from the place, the means of transmission and the device. At the same time, work processes can be accelerated and decisions made more quickly. The application of these solutions is as varied as it is fascinating.

Video Communications Boost Productivity

At the Hanover show NextiraOne will also demonstrate high definition videoconferencing solutions for a variety of applications: including virtual face-to-face contacts, the use of interactive next generation smart-boards and immersive conference solutions.

NextiraOne has extensive project experience and profound know-how from the implementation of video technologies for its own in-house use.  “Video will gradually replace classic telephony and conference solutions for remote working. Our own focus was initially more out of cost considerations, but we soon discovered that there were even greater advantages in the increasing productivity it facilitated,” says Bernd Ruppert. “In particular the possibility to arrange ad hoc meetings across long distances and company boundaries and to avoid the unproductive travelling times was a huge step forward.” As a Cisco certified TelePresence Video Master Partner ATP, NextiraOne is in a strong position to deliver comprehensive video solutions for national and international customers.

Data Centres as the Building Blocks of Virtualisation

Server consolidation and virtualisation are two of the most important themes on the agenda for any CIO. With its designs, solutions and services NextiraOne can help to significantly reduce the capital and operating costs of server hardware, storage and network components as well as reducing the requirements for power, cooling and space in server rooms. This reduces the carbon footprint and improves sustainability in businesses. At Cebit 2012 NextiraOne will show data centre scenarios based on the newest solutions from Cisco, Panduit and VMware together with storage solutions from EMC and NetApp.

As experts for real-time communications, NextiraOne brings the entire communications spectrum into the data centre and ensures a smooth integration with the world of applications. This proves that the company is one of the leading international suppliers of convergence between IT and communications. “Only those who are at home in both worlds can guarantee the competitiveness of their globally active customers,” says Bernd Ruppert.
