Witbe to Highlight Enhanced Proactive Monitoring Technology at the
2023 NAB Show

by Anthony Weaver

At the 2023 NAB Show, Witbe will showcase its powerful technology for automated testing and proactive monitoring. Highlights in booth W2351 will include updates to the company’s popular Smartgate monitoring software application, Remote Eye Controller (REC) application, recently expanded lineup of Witbox products, and much more. On the show floor in Las Vegas, Witbe will demonstrate how its technology helps video service providers identify and fix service interruptions before their customers notice there’s an issue.

“I can’t wait to be back at NAB in Las Vegas, especially since I wasn’t able to attend personally last year,” said Mathieu Planche, CEO of Witbe. “The NAB Show always brings our industry together, making it the perfect place for Witbe to unveil the latest updates to our proactive monitoring and automated testing technology.”

Taking center stage at the 2023 NAB Show will be features added in Version 23.01 of the Witbe Software Suite. Witbe’s Smartgate application, which sends immediate alerts whenever regular video service is affected or interrupted, has been enhanced with a new outage management feature. The new functionality helps streamline alerts when multiple devices experience service issues simultaneously, while an added “video service monitoring” feature allows video operations teams to focus on the availability and performance of their service. The update also integrates Smartgate with the web-based REC application — which helps users immediately take control of their test devices — as well as Lyra, Witbe’s new mobile app that allows users to receive service push alerts on their smartphones.

Witbe’s REC application, through which teams can access and control their testing devices remotely, now offers a “request control” feature that enables team members to switch device control easily. In addition, “magic keyboard” functionality makes searching on test devices without a virtual remote simple, while the REC’s popular mosaic view now allows users to view more devices simultaneously. These updates build on the launch of a web-based REC in 2022, allowing users to access their testing devices on their own smartphones and tablets. At NAB, Witbe will showcase how the newly added features in Smartgate and the REC further the accessibility, interconnectivity, and technical power of their video testing and monitoring technology.
Additional Witbe Highlights at NAB Show 2023 Will Include:
Test Short-Form Video QoE
Witbe’s new, completely integrated technology automatically tests the QoE of short-form videos, including common KPIs such as availability, buffering time, and video quality. Featured in social media apps like TikTok and Instagram, short-form videos are extremely popular with mobile users. Witbe’s technology helps video service providers and mobile network operators achieve a superior performance in the delivery of short-form video content as they look to provide a better service and increase user retention.

The Complete Witbox Testing Family
Witbe’s Witbox family of devices packs the company’s automated testing and monitoring technology into a compact, accessible package that is simple to set up. In 2022, Witbe expanded the Witbox lineup with the scalable Witbox+, the most powerful testing device on the market, and the distinct WitboxNet, designed for web testing. They will both be on display at the 2023 NAB Show, alongside the flagship WitboxOne, which was built for reliable and accessible video testing.

Witbe Cloud Product Options
Witbe will present its lineup of Witbe Cloud devices at the 2023 NAB Show, which delivers all the power users expect from Witbe’s technology without the need for a physical unit that occupies counter or rack space. With Witbe Cloud products, companies enjoy dedicated, secure remote access to any physical testing device they need. And with Witbe Cloud OnDemand, users can rent access to the same robust testing and monitoring technology for short periods of time.
