World’s First ‘Hashtag Broadband’ service launched

Relish lets consumers order same-day broadband via Twitter

26.10.2016: Relish, London’s wireless internet provider, today announces the launch of the UK’s first ‘Hashtag Broadband’ service, enabling consumers to tweet ‘#GetMeOnline’ to receive broadband that very same afternoon.

Making its same-day broadband service even more accessible for consumers, Relish’s ‘Hashtag Broadband’ has been created to speed up the time it takes to get people online. The new service was launched in response to research that revealed 57% of Londoners* have to wait anywhere between three days and one month for a home broadband connection.

Usually reserved for ‘trending topics’ or categorising photos, hashtags can now be used to order broadband to homes or businesses. Relish will be undertaking a pilot of ‘Hashtag Broadband’ from the 27th – 28th October and consumers looking to trial the new service can begin their order by following Relish on Twitter, posting ‘#GetMeOnline’ @Relish and confirming their order before 12pm for delivery the same day.

The new social media-powered service makes setting up an internet connection even easier – taking just seconds to order and hours to deliver.”

The Hashtag Broadband service allows consumers to order Relish’s same-day unlimited broadband package, which is available to consumers and businesses, and is priced at £20 a month with a one-off same day delivery fee of £20. To order Relish’s same day broadband using the Hashtag Broadband service simply tweet at Relish using “@Relish #GetMeOnline” and have your order confirmed before 12pm (excludes weekends and Bank Holidays) and a new broadband hub will be delivered the same working day, via the dedicated delivery scooters, ready to plug in and start browsing the web immediately.

Users can check whether they’re in coverage at relish.net.

*Calculations for the report were carried out by CEBR using YouGov data from April 2014. All survey figures, unless otherwise stated, are from YouGov Plc.  YouGov London consumer broadband Survey – Total sample size was 1267 adults from London and the survey was carried out online.
