Vodafone Malta selects XINTEC’s RAliteTM

Luxembourg, 4th October 2010:  Vodafone Malta has chosen Luxembourg-based supplier XINTEC to install and commission a state-of-the-art revenue assurance system as part of a practical initiative by Vodafone to further tighten financial controls within the island’s leading mobile network.

RAliteTM is designed specifically to help detect and prevent “leakage” within the mobile network which can result in financial losses. According to industry sources, the inability to plug such data leakage can impact the bottom line by as much as 10% of revenue in extreme cases.

The challenge for communication service providers (CSPs), large and small, is in identifying and measuring revenue leakages. A combination of system faults, and internal business processes, and human error, is usually at the root cause of the problem.

We were looking for a system specific to our requirements. Having worked with XINTEC for two years following the deployment of their fraud management system, FMSlite, we knew that our needs would be met with a user-friendly solution and high quality, ongoing support,” says Melissa Darmanin, Roaming and Revenue Assurance Manager at Vodafone Malta.

XINTEC understands the constraints with which many CSPs have to work. The pressure to introduce more attractive rate plans and “bundled” service packages to end customers tends to increase the complexity of the billing process, making CSPs more prone to error. By having a deep subject matter expertise in this area, XINTEC can offer cost-effective solutions aimed at preventing such leakages in the first place, and hence protecting the profitability of CSPs.

RAliteTM covers all the major network elements – GSM switch, GPRS switch, Prepaid IN, TAP, Interconnect and Billing system, and uses a test-call generator (TCG) to detect the various revenue leakages in the end-to-end operational chain. RAliteTM is scalable and flexible, and designed to meet a CSP’s needs in response to a specific area of leakage, or to an inter-related series of events.
