Yandex Browser Delivers Enhanced Security, AI and Personalisation to MacOS Community
10 January 2017 – Yandex, the leading global mobile and machine-learning company, has today announced the latest version of Yandex Browser for MacOS. Yandex’s unique AI-powered Browser provides Mac users with a brand new interface and unrivalled browser protection, turbo mode for faster browsing and all the benefits of AI including highly personalised content recommendations, ad blocking and security.
The Browser for MacOS incorporates Yandex’s unrivalled security technology, Protect. This ensures secure connectivity, data encryption and safeguards against malware. Protect can be easily activated via the browser address bar enabling users to view the security status of each website visited and disable unwanted website notifications. Using the browser, MacOS users can safely access public WiFi networks and websites outside protected networks. For malware protection, the browser utilises Yandex’s pioneering AI algorithm to trawl millions of safe and malicious web pages, learning to differentiate the good and bad and warns users against entering malicious websites.
For added security, Yandex Browser automatically enables protect mode and disables all potentially vulnerable extensions as soon as an online banking website is launched.

Further enhancing user experience, Yandex Zen, an AI-powered infinite content recommendation feed, displays personally tailored content including articles, videos, images, and other stories within the browser. Users can also control the appearance and layout of the browser, as well as how wide each tab can be and how they would like to navigate between them. For faster browsing, turbo mode reduces data traffic by up to 60 per cent and displays traffic compression status within the interface.
Yandex Browser for Mac will be automatically upgraded for existing users and is available for download on browser.yandex.com for new users. Yandex Browser is also available for Windows OS, Android and iOS devices for free.
