Yota has launched the first commercial LTE network in Russia

Novosibirsk, December 20, 2011

 

Yota has launched the first commercial LTE network in Russia. The main stage of construction of the network has been completed at present in Novosibirsk.

 

The network is ready for joint operation by several operators. In particular, technical integration with MegaFon has been already carried out.

 

Beginning from January 15, Yota modems will be accessible to all persons concerned both in own retail networks and in partner networks.

Yota is a fast-growing Russian Internet-company which provides 4G Internet mobile services. Yota has become the first to put into operation 4th generation LTE networks in two cities of Russia: Kazan and Novosibirsk; it also provides WiMAX technology access services in 5 cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ufa, Sochi and Krasnodar.

 

The company has developed its own access units: modem for LTE network LTE, modem and mobile router for WiMAX network.
