Zimory to Present on the World’s First Vendor Neutral Marketplace for Cloud Computing Infrastructure-as-a-Service at Cloud Expo New York
Berlin, Germany – June 6, 2013 – Zimory, the Berlin-based experts on cloud management software, announced today that it will be presenting at the Cloud Expo, Monday, June 10 from 1:40-2:25pm. The event is being held in New York, NY, from June 10-13.
The market for cloud computing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – such as compute and storage – is growing, as more organizations turn to the cloud to reduce capital and operational expenses associated with purchasing, provisioning, managing and upgrading their own IT infrastructure.
Organizations seeking to purchase IaaS face a difficult task in today’s market because solutions are not standardized between vendors from a technical, business, compliance and legal perspective. This makes it almost impossible to accurately compare offerings from different vendors, change suppliers, or establish and enforce service level agreements. This process can often take weeks or months.
In response, Zimory is working with several partners to build the world’s first vendor-neutral IaaS marketplace. The standards-based marketplace will allow IT departments to create requests for cloud services and be able to instantly compare, purchase and implement offerings from vendors from around the world.
The presentation by Zimory CEO, Ruediger Baumann, will introduce the marketplace from a technical point of view, focusing on the initial software requirements and how it will be used by buyers and sellers of cloud infrastructure. Mr. Baumann will provide insight into the status of the project, as well the importance of standards when trading computing power.
