ZTE Launches Industry’s First XGS-PON Terminal for Ultimate Video Experience

18 October 2016, London – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the launch of the world’s first XGS-PON terminal device, ZXHN F2866S, at Broadband World Forum 2016.

The terminal integrates multiple cutting-edge technologies including 10 Gigabit symmetrical passive optical networks (XGS-PON), 802.11ac Wave2, 10G Ethernet, and USB 3.0. In the big video era, ZXHN F2866S supports a full line rate of 10Gbps in both uplink and downlink. In addition to meeting home users’ demand for superfast bandwidth, the device also allows connection to enterprise switches through 10Gbps Ethernet to satisfy fibre to the office (FTTO) scenarios.

XGS-PON terminal and its ultra-wide bandwidth becomes the key development direction as a result of the exponential growth in big-video service for home users. The terminal supports 3×3 11n@2.4GHz and 4×4 11ac@5GHz DBDC WiFi with the physical rate up to 2.2 Gbps, allowing users to enjoy multi-channel HD video streams and excellent service experience. In addition, the support for beam-forming greatly improves data transmission performance and implements larger and more stable Wi-Fi coverage. Compared with the single user multiple input, multiple output (SU-MIMO) feature of IEEE 802.11ac Wave, the multi-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO) feature of IEEE 802.11ac Wave2 used in the terminal improves the utilisation of WiFi networks by at least 30 percent because data can be simultaneously transmitted to four user groups.

Supporting a USB 3.0 host interface, the terminal allows file sharing when connected to USB storage devices, as well as connection to a higher-rate long-term evolution (LTE) dongle for LTE access backup and bandwidth sharing.

ZTE is committed to promoting the commercial deployment of the 10G PON solution. As a leader in the fibre to the x (FTTx) field, ZTE first launched the ASIC-based 8-port XG-PON1 board in the second half of 2013, one year earlier than other vendors and deployed it in the commercial networks of Orange Spain, China Mobile and Telkom Indonesia.

According to the Market Share Report: 2Q16 FTTx, DSL, and CMTS issued by research firm Ovum, ZTE topped both rankings on the global market share of next-generation PON products and on the overall growth of fixed-network access products from Q3 2015 to Q2 2016. The ZXHN F2866S, a new-generation XGS-PON gateway, can not only offer a symmetrical ultra-wide bandwidth experience for users, but will also speed up the commercial deployment of the XGS-PON solution.

 

ZTE Launches Big Video 4K+ Solution

18 October 2016, Shenzhen China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the launch of its Big Video 4K+ solution for the European market at Broadband World Forum (BBWF) 2016. The solution demonstrates ZTE’s latest smart terminals and big video-based smart home service, and has received much attention and recognition from visitors and customers at BBWF.

Media and telecom network technologies are undergoing rapid changes as people continually seek a better video experience. The vivid and smooth ultra-HD video experience brought by services such as 4K, 8K, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) will be the next key industry trend. As such, in developed markets like Europe, there is a pressing need for telecom operators to expand their ultra-HD video business to drive profits.

ZTE’s Big Video 4K+ solution consists of four sub-solutions, namely fixed-mobile convergence, intelligent operation, intelligent maintenance and 4K smart terminal.

The ZTE Big Video 4K+ solution provides intelligent operation and intelligent maintenance based on a big data platform. With powerful data mining and analysis, management, and scalability, the solution offers customers a visualized online maintenance management (OMM) portal and end-to-end intelligent fault location to improve terminal users’ video experience. Meanwhile, the intelligent operation platform supports precision marketing, targeted advertising, personalized EPG, as well as providing data support for innovative digital services required by industries such as medical care, education and travel. The solution’s big data based multi-dimension user analysis and modelling capability provides reference for users when making operation-related decisions.

At this year’s BBWF, ZTE also showcased other products and solutions bringing customers and users a “true 4K, intelligent and convergence” experience including Android TV set-top-boxes, home media centres and other smart 4K UHD terminals.

ZTE Releases M6000-1S Micro Cloud Gateway Series Based on IT&CT Integration

18 October 2016, London – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today launched its Micro Cloud Gateway (MCG) M6000-1S series at Broadband World Forum 2016. The product series can not only be used as the gateway of enterprise branch but also as the integrated access node of operator networks. This innovative product not only provides all the functions of traditional enterprise gateway router and also the cutting-edge new technology of software definednetworking/ network functions virtualization (SDN/NFV). The ETE solution offered by the product enables enterprises and operators to improve service deployment efficiency and user experience.

With the maturity of SDN/NFV technology, enterprises and operators are under pressure to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of current networks by integrating information and communication (ICT) technologies. In response to this demand, ZTE has launched the M6000-1S, which is designed to support Intel’s high-performance X86 architecture and integrate IT resources and CT equipment through virtualization. Various 3rd parties value-added service (VAS) APPs such as wide area network (WAN) acceleration, vDPI and vFW can run on MCG’s powerful virtualization platform, which enables customers to run multiple virtual functions on one device. ZTE has released three 4G multi-mode automotive modules for the China, Europe and North America markets

18 October 2016, Beijing – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, today announced the release of three 4G multi-mode automotive modules to enhance the connected cars industry. These three modules are for the China, Europe and North America markets, and support global navigation satellite system (GNSS), EU eCall, and firmware over the air (FOTA) remote upgrade to meet the high standards of automotive electronics.

ZTE first entered the module field in 2010, and has since accumulated a knowledge base that has allowed the company to tailor the ZM83XX series modules for the connected car, using a 32*32mm land grid array (LGA) packaging with compatible pins. The series of modules are in accordance with the AECQ standard for component selection, follow the PPAP standard production process and are in line with TS18949 quality control standards that allow for reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, long life-time, high seismic performance, and the ability to withstand temperatures between 40 and 85 degrees Celsius.

 

The ZM8330, which is designed for the Chinese market, supports the three major domestic carriers’ 7 mode and 16 frequency bands and is, in every sense of the word, a fully domestic network communications product, with a downlink speed of 150Mbps. The ZM8331 for the European and Asia-Pacific markets supports time division duplex (TDD), frequency division duplex (FDD), universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS) and global system for mobile communications (GSM) with a downlink speed of 150Mbps. For the US market, the ZM8340 supports AT&T, Verizon, and other mainstream carrier bands, in addition to carrier aggregation technology, with a maximum download rate of 300Mbps. The three models are designed to be compatible with each other and easily adopted by automotive manufacturers. Taking into account the need for customisation by the automotive industry, these modules give customers a simple compilation environment and allow for quick integration and secondary development.
