ZTE helps China Mobile launch VoLTE services in Hunan province

Deployment in Hunan is China Mobile’s first province with completed 4G+ commercial network in the country

29 October 2015, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, is pleased to help China Mobile roll out voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) high definition voice services in the Hunan province.

ZTE’s comprehensive end-to-end (E2E) capabilities enable China Mobile to deliver the highest-performance VoLTE services and user experience to subscribers by evolving and coordinating the wireless, bearer, signaling, billing, as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) components of the network across circuit switched (CS), IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) and evolved packet core (EPC) domains. China Mobile and ZTE successfully completed a large-capacity field test in Hunan, exceeding all specifications and requirements. The project in Hunan was China Mobile’s first province completed 4G+ commercial network in the country.

“ZTE is excited to work with China Mobile on the successful launch of VoLTE services in Hunan,” said Gong Dehua, Vice President of Core Network Products at ZTE. “The project demonstrated ZTE’s industry-leading capabilities in VoLTE, as we provided innovative solutions that deliver high-quality and robust services to subscribers, and enable real-time monitoring of network performance and user-experience.”

An increasing number of 4G operators globally are deploying VoLTE services. As operator of the world’s biggest 4G LTE network, China Mobile views VoLTE as a key technology. In August, ZTE was awarded contracts in China Mobile’s Phase 2 CM-IMS centralised tender in major provinces including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Shandong, Sichuan and Fujian. ZTE received one of the highest allocations among participating vendors, and will provide China Mobile with a full-range of VoLTE core network solutions covering equipment and systems integration.

ZTE is committed to industry-leading innovations in IMS and VoLTE solutions to help operators deliver converged communication services. ZTE has received more than 170 contracts for commercial and trial IMS networks with a combined capacity for 220 million subscribers across the world, including deployments in North America, Spain, Singapore, Poland, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines.
