ZTE IMS application enables quick and efficient access to mobile VOIP

25 April 2012, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, has announced its latest IMS application for smartphone users in Europe and America at the IMS World Forum 2012 in Madrid. The application enables quick and efficient access to mobile VoIP.

Based on ZTE’s successful IMS deployments in Europe which have seen an average increase of 100,000 new users per month, the application allows operators to offer a converged service combining internet applications and traditional telecom services, enabling them to expand their subscriber base and increase revenues.

The intelligent application enables subscribers to download and install an IMS client onto a smartphone and use mobile VoIP and other multimedia services immediately whilst still receiving incoming calls and SMS on their 2G/3G mobile numbers.

Focusing on improving the user experience, ZTE’s solution not only supports VoIP and SMS, but also other services such as IP Centrex, VMS, VPABX, Home Zone, videoconferencing, instant messaging and presence services (IM/PS), file transfer, and image sharing.

“ZTE is committed to offering differentiated services to help operators’ build their competitive advantage so they can respond to the immense pressure from industry competition. This IMS application delivers a wide range of easy-to-use services offering both improved access to phone calls regardless of location and significant savings on the expense of international and other expensive calls,” said ZTE Vice President Xu Ziyang.

As of the end of 2011, ZTE had more than 140 commercial and trial IMS deployments officially launched around the globe, with scores of commercial networks deployed in countries including Italy, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Albania, Saudi Arabia, The Philippines, Singapore, India, the USA and China.
