ZTE IP RAN sales exceed 10,000 ZXCTN 9000-E devices with China Telecom

7 June 2016, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, announces today that it has sold over 10,000 ZXCTN 9000-E devices at Internet Protocol-based radio access network (IP RAN) aggregation layer to China Telecom and its market share in the China Telecom IP RAN sector has risen to more than 35 percent.

ZTE IP RAN equipment was selected by China Telecom during the 2016 IP RAN bidding in March. It was also during this time that ZTE’s star product, ZXCTN 9000-18E, won the largest share of the China Telecom RAN ER bidding. The selection of the ZXCTN 9000-18E was attributed to the solution’s industry leading number of slots and biggest capacity, in addition to its readiness for the future evolution of networks.

As the mobile internet flourishes, the deployment of long-term evolution (LTE) and 4G full coverage expands. Operators’ backhaul networks must be developed with IP features, high bandwidth and diversified services to accommodate the expanded needs of their customers. IP RAN, with built-in high bandwidth, reliability, simple maintenance and end-to-end IP elastic networks, has become an operator’s first choice when transitioning to all IP comprehensive services. China Telecom completed full operation overhaul for 3G and LTE with the help of IP RAN in 2013. Today, it is now the first operator in the industry to successfully shift to a 4G+ network.

As one of China Telecom’s most invaluable partners, ZTE promotes in-depth strategic cooperation with China Telecom in its IP RAN construction with a variety of innovative solutions. The ZTE 9000-E series product, for the IP RAN core aggregation layer for China Telecom, was installed in 2013. Designed for the 1T/SLOT evolution, its launch in the market was followed by a surge of consumer enthusiasm.

The ZXCTN 9000-E series product, a transport level flagship packet transport product located at the IP RAN core aggregation layer is designed to support the sustainable network evolution. It features transport level super high capacity, abundant service slots, support for 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet (40GE\100GE) high-speed interfaces, support for efficient bridging solutions, software-defined networking (SDN) IP RAN features and all-around protection solutions. It can effectively solve various problems IP RAN may encounter and provides a long-term foundation for China Telecom in its mobile network construction.

ZTE is one of the world’s leading bearer network specialists. Through dedication and a strong partnership, ZTE and China Telecom have completed many forward-looking projects, including an SDN trial, an enterprise network national sample, a 1588V2 commercial project, an LTE evolved multimedia broadcast multicast services (eMBMS) commercial project and Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) trial project. Through these solutions and trials, ZTE has become a recognized leader among operators around the globe.
