ZTE launches world’s fastest 3G USB modem in Greece

8 March 2011, Shenzhen – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, along with COSMOTE, the leading mobile operator in Greece, has today launched the world’s fastest 3G dual carrier HSPA+ USB modem in Greece.

The MF680 is a super high-performance modem that brings the speed of third generation (3GSM) data communications closer to the requirements of 4G networks (often referred to as LTE), with download and upload speeds of up to 42Mbps and 5.76Mbps respectively.

The MF680 has been especially designed for HSPA+ networks, providing users with an extremely powerful mobile broadband experience. This stylish device allows COSMOTE customers to enjoy high-speed mobile broadband where the network is equipped.

The modem is equipped with a USB slider connector that can be easily adjusted and plugged into any USB interface and also supports a MicroSD card with data storage of up to 32 GB.

“Since we launched our first 21.6Mbps HSPA+ USB modem in Greece in 2009, there has been growing demand for higher bandwidth and more reliable data services. ZTE’s MF680 offers consumers a much better experience by accessing COSMOTE’s high-speed mobile broadband network, combined with a stylish form factor and high-end technology,” said Mr. Zhang Yadong, General Manager of ZTE’s mobile broadband division.

This is the first time this new dual carrier HSPA+ mobile broadband device has been launched anywhere in the world, and it pushes WCDMA systems another step closer to the requirements of so-called 4G technologies.

ZTE is the world’s second largest and fastest growing supplier of mobile broadband devices, with sales of nearly 30 million mobile broadband devices in 2010, and an annual growth rate of over 100 percent since 2007. ZTE is one of the few manufacturers globally which is able to provide devices with UMTS, HSPA, HSPA+, EVDO Rev A/B, WiMAX and LTE technology.
