Antistat wins Raspberry Pi packaging contract

with Farnell element14 and Sony UKTec

ESD supply chain and packaging specialist Antistat has been selected by Farnell element14 and SonyUKTec to supply static shielding bags for the Raspberry Pi mini-computer, which is now manufactured at Sony’s UK Technology Centre in Pencoed, Wales.

Leaders in anti-static protection for the electronics industry, Antistat has been supplying an extensive range of high quality ESD products to the market’s key players for 25 years.

Although static shielding bags represent a core area of business for Antistat, John Hensley, Antistat CEO knows that it’s not all about their superior product; they secured the contract based on the strength of their overall package:

“We’ve been working in partnership with Farnell element14 for many years and over that time have proved ourselves a more than worthy candidate for contracts such as Raspberry Pi. They trust that we will support them with a reliable service; a dependable supply chain with the back-up of a large stock holding on the ground, enabling us to be flexible and quick to react when needed. This, together with our unrelenting ‘can do’ attitude gives Farnell element14 and Sony UKTec complete peace of mind”.

Justin Willoughby, Head of Service – Europe at Farnell element14 commented:

“Antistat has been a long-standing preferred supplier and were our natural choice for the Raspberry Pi project. ESD protection is a crucial factor in the packaging of electronic goods and the Raspberry Pi is absolutely no different. We know the team at Antistat will deliver the best quality product and the highest level of service.”
