BIG 5G Event, Austin, Texas
16-18 May 2022 |
| After two years of disruption, BIG 5G was fully back in-person for 2022, between on 16-18 May.
The BIG 5G Event was stimulating, informative and had a great community feel about it. This was proven by the openness of the presenters and their willingness to share information and genuine opinions. This was one of the best 5G events I have recently attended as it provided real and valuable industry discussions and learnings.

Convened between 25th and 26th May 2022, in London. Facilities were also available for remote participation.
The theme for the event was, "Adapt, Innovate and Evolve: The Roles of HR and ICT". reflecting the dynamism and fluidity of today’s market environment and points to the need for organisations to adapt, innovate and evolve in a tumultuous era of uncertainty.
The forum focused on the roles that Human Resources (HR) and information and communication technologies (ICT) must play in the post COVID-19 period. In addition to enhancing skillsets and cultivating an engaged workforce, HR practices must be forward-looking and closely aligned to fulfilling the mission. Greater use must be made of technology and data to inform the executive leadership team and provide information to support sound decision-making for operational effectiveness.

Commonwealth Professional Fellows’ Program

The Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO) was the host organisation for the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s Commonwealth Professional Fellowship Programme 2022. The focus of this year’s programme relates to promoting Girls’ Education.
The Commonwealth Professional Fellows’ Open Day morning session will introduce the six fellows assigned to the CTO under the programme. The fellows who come from Mauritius, Nigeria, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan presented the following professional development projects.
• Online Portal for life skills for girls
• Show and Tell What Girls Can Do (ICT Girls’ Clubs)
• Inclusion of Girls in ICT – Closing the gender digital divide
• Promoting Girls Education through the Universal Service Fund
